The 12 Foot RoomThis image was shot in Gee's Bend, Alabama, in one of the remaining Roosevelt Project houses from the 1930's. When the houses were first built for the descendants of the Gee's Bend slaves the government figure out that the tiny houses were too small for the large families that occupied them. The solution was to come back and do additions to the house, which resulted in the addition of what was called the 12 foot room because of its dimensions. While
