HMCS FinialKevin MacLean Oceanwood, wire, surplus obsolete hardware, found objects, watch parts, metal scraps 6. 5" X 20" x 2" the FINIAL was an ill fated submersible inspired by the ornate lampshades her designer had admired during a visit to Turkey. Its bow, shaped in elegant undulating curves, echoed the intricate finials of Ottoman decor beautiful, but utterly impractical. The design created considerable drag, severely limiting her speed and maneuverability.
