Port Askaig 8yo - 45.8% - 700mlThis lovely new single malt Islay whisky is a great introduction to the peaty style. Aged for 8 years in refill American Oak, this imparts a lovely gentle smoke for a moreish dram. The nose has lots of fresh lemon zest with coal smoke, grain and orchard fruit. The palate offers up limestone, coal fires, honeysuckle, green peas and liquorice. The finish has black pepper, salinity and hints of lemon as the smoke fades.
