My painting is an homage to the intrepid Dogtown era surfers that surfed the Pacific Ocean Pier in Venice, California, even as it was disintegrating into the sea. The theme on the old tropical ride on the pier says "death to invaders" which was a warning to visiting board riders from the dogtown "z boys" of the late 70's.
