Cleopatra was the ruler of Egypt from around 51 to 30 BC. She was part of the Ptolemaic Dynasty, and descended from the Macedonian Greeks. Although she is often historically known in reference to her relationships with famous male figures such as Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, she was an intelligent and powerful leader.
